2020 Canadian Rally Championship Cancelled

2020 Canadian Rally Championship Cancelled

Friday, October 9th, 2020

With the recent loss of the Big White Winter Rally, Lincoln Electric Rally of the Tall Pines and Rallye de Charlevoix due to various tightened provincial COVID related restrictions, the CARS board has met to review the situation as it relates to the CRC and protection of the rally community.

Although on August 5th CARS issued Announcement 2020-09 indicating that the championship would be awarded providing, we had at least two events run. The CARS board felt the need to re-visit this decision. With the various travel restrictions in place across the country and since no events have run since that announcement was issued, the board has decided that it is in the best interest of our rally community to cancel the 2020 CRC and its associated championships.

Rallye Perce Neige 2020 results will be counted as a national championship event for the purpose of life time points, speed factors, etc.

This will allow the Rocky Mountain Rally to run as a regional event, if it so wishes and not cause competitors to feel that they must cross the country against the recommendations of their provincial guidelines in order to compete in the National Championship.

North American Rally Cup (NARC)

Since no cross-border competition has taken place since March 2020, CARS in conjunction with the ARA, announce that NARC 2020 will not be scored or awarded.
