We would like to take a few moments to give you some news about the 43rd edition of the Rallye Auto
International Baie-des-Chaleurs!
The 2021 edition will be a different one in many ways due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are currently
experiencing. Of course, the last year has taught us to be careful, but we are confident that we can have an
event that will be approved by the authorities and we have the full support of the City of New Richmond to
make it happen.
We must adapt to the situation and we must respond to certain requests from our authorities. We firmly
believe that we must hold this event and relaunch the rally in the eastern part of the country for the sake of
the discipline.
One of the first demands that we must respect in order to limit the risks of exposure is to reduce the
duration of the event which will be held over 2 days instead of our usual 3 days.
The 2021 edition will therefore take place on July 2nd and 3rd, 2021 according to the following agenda:
registration on site will take place on July 1st in the evening. Friday, July 2nd will feature recce, shakedown
and technical inspection in the evening. Saturday, July 3rd, will be competition day from morning until
evening followed by the podiums. For now, all spectator activities on Friday have been withdrawn as
spectators are still not permitted, we will be monitoring the situation closely. So we are focusing our efforts
on putting together a rally to match the BDC despite the restrictions.
However, it will be essential that all the sanitary measures and other measures put in place by the
organization be respected throughout the event, compliance with these rules will allow us to hold a safe
National rally event. A “COVID” guide will soon be online to identify special measures. Some rules may
be subject to change depending on the evolution of the pandemic situation.
We hope to have many of you with us on July 2nd and 3rd, 2021. The publication of the supplementary
regulations as well as the opening of the registration period should take place at the beginning of May.
Rest assured that our great team will be able to organize an exceptional event, despite the restrictions in
place.
Best regards!
Danny Hudon, event coordinator, and the Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs organization!
